In the Association’s continuing efforts to support college athletes, the NCAA Board of Governors voted unanimously to permit students participating in athletics the opportunity to benefit from the use of their name, image and likeness in a manner consistent with the collegiate model.

Special Olympics Spotlight Poll Winner - September 2020

After 335 total votes,?Catholic Athletics Raises Over $30,000 for Special Olympics D.C., won the September Special Olympics Spotlight Poll by gathering 80% (269) of the total votes. The Cardinals will receive $500 to use for its next Special Olympics event.

Diversity Spotlight Initiative - October 2020

Bridgewater College (Virginia) is the recipient of the October Division III Diversity Spotlight Initiative. The athletics department hosted an LGBTQ OneTeam training session involving all Bridgewater first-year student-athletes. With approximately 250 attendees in both virtual and in-person settings, the program provided strategies and best practices to ensure all individuals may participate in an athletics climate of respect and inclusion, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression. The Diversity Spotlight Initiative recognizes and promotes outstanding diversity related projects, programming and initiatives that are occurring on Division III campuses and in conference offices. All selected recipients receive $500 toward their next diversity initiative.
